Tracy's Service Tips
When bringing your Husqvarna Viking or Pfaff machine for service, you do not need to bring the power cord, foot control, accessory tray, or bobbin. You do need to bring the standard zig zag foot. With all other brands of machines, please bring the power cord and foot control. All services are performed with Mettler Silk Finish 50 weight thread. If you are dedicated to a specific brand or weight of thread, please bring a spool with you.
Starting in the Month of June Tracy will be less available as he will be helping to keep the "entertainment alive all across the Black Hills for the summer months". Please call ahead for projected repair times and one day service --- or where you might find the best upcoming shows. This of course will impact turn around times and availability to answer service-based questions. We will try to keep any inconveniences to a minimum. Tracy has set up a new email address for service-related questions that he will have access to while away from the shop.

Watch for Beginning Quilting Class Coming in June
Coming in June--Beginning Quilting Class taught by Jodi Paverud. Jodi has been quilting for over 20 years. She is fun, full of laughs and is a great addition to our teacher lineup. Here is a glimpse of the X's and O's Pattern she will be using. You can make a table runner, a table topper or a quilt--the sky is the limit. Jodi will help you understand the quilting basics from the ground up.
Row by Row Experience Starts June 21st
Quilt Connection's 2016 License Plate is in the shop and can be purchased now. Our row kits are currently being packaged and we will be ready to go June 21st for another great project. This year's theme is Home Sweet Home.
What is Row by Row Experience you ask . . ? It's like a shop hop, but it's not... no fees, no cards to stamp, and all summer to play! Simply visit any of the participating shops and receive a free pattern for a row in a quilt. Combine your rows in any way to create a unique quilt that represents the fun you had traveling throughout the summer. Travel with friends, discover new quilt shops and have fun collecting rows!
Create a quilt using at least 8 different 2016 rows from 8 different 2016 participating RxR shops and be the first to bring it into a participating shop to win a stack of 25 fat quarters (6-1/4 yards of fabric!). Use that shop’s row in your quilt and win a bonus prize!

Congratulations to Carol Slavik and Wendy Andrews!
Carol Slavik was the lucky winner of the Shop Hop drawing for a quilting "Goody Basket" from Quilt Connection. The winner of the Grand Prize was Wendy Andrews. She won a $50 Gift Certificate from each of the Black Hills Quilt Shops that participated in the 2016 event.
Quilted Hugs 4 Kyds
Quilted Hugs 4 kyds will have our usual "Sew Fest" on Saturday, May 14. The group has decided to take a summer break for June, July and August. Come for the May 14th fun and games for a great summer send-off!

Black Hills Quilt Show and Sale - June 3-5
The 2016 Quilt Show sponsored by the Black Hills Quilters Guild will be held June 3-5 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in beautiful downtown Rapid City. The hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on Friday and Saturday and 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on Sunday. They expect to have around 400-500 quilts on display and about 20 vendors with quilt related products.
