
T-shirt Quilt Class

Have you ever wanted to take that box of T-shirts you have saved for years and make them into a keepsake quilt? This class will start from the very beginning planning to the final stitches. What will you learn: how to design the quilt, keeping your project organized, interface fusing, cutting T-Shirts, fabric selection tips, adding borders, discuss batting choices, tips on binding and lots of sewing tips along the way. The skill level for this class is Confident Beginner - some basic quilting/sewing knowledge and knowledge on how to operate your sewing machine.
Supplies Day #1

Uncut T-shirts/Clothing you will use in the quilt

Thin (lightweight or featherweight) one-sided, iron-on interfacing

I use P44F or 44F by Pellon®.

Pellon® SF101 Shape-Flex® is NOT required

Figure ½ yard per T-Shirt (if you have 20 T-shirts, get 10 yards)

Large square acrylic ruler.

I prefer the Creative Grids 20-1/2” x 20-1/2” - This is a great ruler to have in your sewing supplies. I use it on every quilt I make.

6” x 24” (or 6-1/2” x 24-1/2”) acrylic ruler.

Rotary cutter with sharp blade

Pressing Cloth

Black - Sharpie Maker

Full size fabric scissors
