Birmingham with Studio 180 Tools
This class will make the Birmingham table runner from Doug Leko's Tabletastic! 3, with focus on using the Studio 180 Wing Clipper for flying geese, and the Tucker Trimmer for half square triangles. The pattern has 64 flying geese in two different sizes. With the Wing Clipper, you can make 4 at a time! The method in the book will also be shown, so you can decide which is best for you!

| Requirements: | Birmingham Supply List Fabric Requirements See Page 37, Tabletastic! 3 by Doug Leko for Antler Quilt Design Supplies Machine in good working condition with foot pedal, power cord and manual Basic sewing supplies (fabric scissors, straight pins, extra machine needles, thread, seam ripper, rotary cutter with sharp blade, small mat) Tucker Trimmer or 90 degree ruler Wing Clipper or ruler to trim flying geese Magic Wand or 12” ruler to mark ¼” diagonal lines Purple Thang or stiletto (optional but helpful) Fabric pencil or pen for lighter and darker fabric Fabric Cutting prior to Class Because we will go over two ways to make both the flying geese and half square triangles, please ONLY cut the following prior to class. Background Four 5” / WOF strips, then cut into twenty-six 5” squares Four 3-1/2” WOF strips, then cut forty 3-1/2” squares Main: Thirteen 9-1/2” x 5” pieces from 13 different fabrics OR: Two 9-1/2” WOF strips cut into thirteen 9-1/2” x 5” rectangles 16 Assorted Prints: One 6” square from each print Be sure to bring all the remaining fabric! *A large cutting board and long ruler will be available for cutting additional strips. An iron and ironing board will be available. |
