Happy Blooms

Happy Blooms by Sue Penn, "When I began working on Happy Blooms I wanted to create a collection that would make you smile and brighten your day. When people visit my studio, they often say my space is a happy place. I think that happens because I love to paint, and I have fun while I'm doing it. I decided to create huge flowers for the main pattern, Blooms, and put them on a black background so they would really pop visually and stand out in a quilt. The coordinating patterns remind me of the bright colors at a carnival or a fair. The tone on tones are designed to pull out the colors in all of the patterns and tie the collection together.
